City Charter Election Guide

On May 5th (and earlier for those who are taking advantage of early voting), residents of Garland will have the chance to vote on 36 amendments to our charter.

All amendments were published in the Dallas Morning News today, on pages 7D – 9D in both English and Spanish. I highly encourage you to read the amendment list in the Dallas Morning News, and take advantage of the resources on the city’s website which include the current charter, a redlined version of the proposed changes, links to televised meetings about the charter, and the charter review committee’s presentation to council:

As an additional resource, I’ve created a Charter Guide that has additional commentary and background on the City Charter, located HERE

If you still have questions about the Charter items, you can reach out to the city or contact me at council8@garlandtx.gov
